This goes without saying that fashion is an imminent part of our life. Right from wearing an appropriate outfit in every possible occasion, to hair and makeup… everything has become so important. Our fashion quotient is not connected to the profession that we are into, anymore. I mean, you will very easily witness, very well-dressed individuals who have no relation to the fashion industry or let us say, show-biz. Isn’t that the best part about the time we are living in. Fashion and style is important to one and all. Same goes with makeup. Being a part of hospitality industry, knowing the art of makeup was an essential skill for me. But to date, in the world of #instalife #instamood #instagood #instamakeup #instabreakup ahem ahem, I mean #instagram, we have millions who are putting up makeup tutorials and are, our ‘queens in shining armour’, our saviour, our ultimate guide, when it comes to keeping up with the latest makeup trends. Being fashionably trendy and updated is every person’s individual choice. But haven’t you heard, fashion changes with time.

Diana Vreeland had very rightly said once, in an event, ” Fashion is part of the daily air and it changes all the time, with all the events. You can even see the approaching of a revolution in clothes. You can see and feel everything in clothes.” When it comes to the debate of fashion and style, Gianni Versace beautifully convinces us by saying, ” Don’t be into trends. Don’t make fashion own you, but you decide what you are, what you want to express by the way you dress and the way to live. But I am sorry Versace, there are few trends we are blindly going to follow atleast for the next few seasons to come.

What are the recent fashion trends you swear by? I would love to know them on the comment section. Here are few top fashion trends which are forecaster to stay longer. If you don’t have them yet, in your closet, you know what to do next! HAVE THEM!

#1. Plaids and Checkers

When it comes to patterns and prints, vintage checkers have dominated the fashionistas’ wardrobe past last two seasons and it is here to stay. Plaids dominated in the 80’s and it is back with a BANG! In 2019, checkered look is set to continue it’s reign as the must-have pattern. However, do not limit yourself to plaid patterned power suits. We see the skirts, shirts, pants, jackets, and even boob tubes in checkered pattern!  While a checked jacket will still be a substantial investment for those who don’t already own one, checkered accessories will also become wardrobe essentials. I love the way Priyanka Chopra flaunts her checkered overcoat during her Quantico Season 3’s shoot.

#3. Animal Print

I love the way, how animal print has always garnered attention and has been in fashion for a long time. It displays sophistication, versatility, superiority and style.  Various designers and brands like Roberto Cavalli, DKNY, Diane Von Furstenberg, came up with their own fashionable versions to showcase their animal print collection. Burberry displayed amazing giraffe and leopard print collections whereas giraffe print ankle boots by Boden were loved by all at the Autumn/Winter 13 show. This trend has been around henceforth, and it is no doubt here to stay.

“Matrix” glasses are having a major moment right now. It also promises, not to disappear anytime sooner. These streamlined glasses are a current favourite amongst fashion and style bloggers, street style stars, editors, and celebrities alike. From chic cat-eye versions to super-slim oval designs, “Matrix” glasses of all sorts are set to dictate eyewear in 2019. The best part? Their retro-meets-futuristic style can work with almost any kind of outfit or ensemble.

#5. Belt Bags

I will be honest, I am not really a big fan of belt bags! Well, whether it’s a belt bag worn across the body or a shoulder bag worn as a belt—whatever the iteration, the fashion world is experiencing a wildfire in this trend. Belt bags, very speedily has become one of this year’s most significant drift. May be,because of their practicality and uniquely fashionable appeal, these hands-free handbags dominated the street style scene in 2018 and is going to be around for longer. In more than many occasions, Santoshi Shetty of The Style edge have shared her shots on instagram, where she converts her usual slings into belt bags. She is indeed an ultimate #styleinspo when it comes to Belt Bags!

#6. The Reincarnation Of Bohemian Movement

The bohemian frenzy first started around 1950s/1960s by hippie travelers wearing visibly diverse clothing, taking influence from every land they set their foot in. A long maxi-dress with geo-prints or a short kaftan style flowing dress in handloom, cotton or linen fabric makes for a perfect boho-chic outfit. Some oxidized silver jewelry, feather earrings, pom-pom accessories, and nude boots add to the bohemian motif. Harem pants which is also known to us as hippie pants with a tank/crop top and a scarf, a head accessory, loose wavy curls, and a frayed leather bag, takes to to be from uber chic to boho-chic. If you want your boho-look to reign in an evening get-together, an evening dress, anything flowy, cascading, long or printed dress gives you that gypsy look. Needless to say, add statement jewelry. Adding even a piece of chunky statement necklace, a big finger ring, a silver nose pin or a septum ring, will make a difference to your outfit. You do not have to wear everything at once, but one piece at a time can transform you into a remarkably Bohemian lass. A bohemian style dressing gives you so much of edge that this style is going to be around for longer than you think! Kritika Khurana is the ultimate, when you want any inspiration about your bohemian look. Just follow her style, because she is #ThatBohoGirl

#7. Sheer It Baby

“Do you know your skirt is see-through?” Yes, I do. If the spring NYFW styles are any hint as to what’s going to be hot this season, this trend is here to stay. Designers show a variety of options when it comes to this style, with outfits ranging from a modest sheer shirt to a skirt starting at the knees or a full sheer skirt with brief-like bottoms underneath. See-through is in and it is not going anywhere, sooner. Therefore transparent, flowy, textured sheers or whatever, as designers like Christopher Kane, Calvin Klein and Victoria Beckham etc. made strong cases for it this season. Sheer is also one of 2018’s biggest trends! From light nets to organza fabrics, we saw sheer in a whole new light on the runways and can’t wait to embrace this trend ourselves, forever’s sake. We have fashion and style blogger, Rakhi Mehrotra, AKA raks.m who has already made her mark in the industry as a Fashion Designer. Her sense of fashion has taken her across the globe and here we are seeing her in this orange embroidered sheer outfit! Especially as Diwali is round the corner, I would really want you to share your view upon, how are you “sheering’ in your ethnic wear! 😉

#8. Ruffles and Frills

You want a bit of frivolity and drama? Go for Frills and Ruffles. You want romance and a saga behind you? Go for Frills and Ruffles. It is like the #BigBangTheory. Ruffled tops, shirts, skirts, pants or dresses. You have been seeing it everywhere. AND I promise, you will see it more and more. Ruffles ranges from delicate frills to dramatically oversized, decorations on the apparel. If you think you are someone who can’t carry off the ruffled look,  but you still don’t wanna giveup on this trend, then let me tell you, the trick to pulling off that flounce is to make sure the ruffle is the central point of your ensemble. Also, one has to see to it that the ruffle on the outfit is structured well as opposed to a bunch of limp as it can make the cloth look extremely boring.

Fashion is known for having a lotta fads. Fads are trends that come and go and are recurring. But it is pretty interesting to see that there are few trends that have been around for more than 2 seasons and are here to stay and reign their existence not only on the runways but in every fashionista’s wardrobe. What are the trends you have been following blindly? Why? and what are the trends you never want to let it go? Do let me know on the comment section! Until then, Obrigada Amigas! Namaste?
